The exquisitely-sweet pain of beauty

How incredibly sweet-painful it is in my heart, this aesthetic experience. It’s like  ripping my heart out for poignancy. But how exquisite this pain is! There’s a triumverate of artist-medium-subject which must come together in such a way with firm love, intention, and passion for such an experience to manifest. It’s as if all the love, insight, and agony of human experience were accessed in this single moment. It is humbling and empowering to know that the artist can evoke such power. It’s like a powerful magnet which gathers all the visual elements and aligns them like steel filings into a powerful locus simply through the power of insight and concentration. What you always wonder is how many others can you share this with, experience this when they see the work? Fortunately there are some and they can’t fake the excitement, so I can see it, thank God.
